TPP Makerspace
The Possible Project Maker Space is an extension of the youth entrepreneurship program based in Cambridge, MA. The Maker Space was the result of a collaboration between Cambridge Housing Authority and Biogen Idec Foundation. Located in Kendall Square, the reclamation of an old service station, has given disadvantaged students the opportunity to use and learn 21st century digital fabrication tools. The design consists of a large teaching space, fabrication area, office, and meeting space. Due to the dynamic nature of the space, innovative design ideas were incorporated, such as an overhead grid system to support lighting, electrical, data, and hanging needs, as well as, portable storage that can be arranged to divide the teaching space and provide writing surfaces.
