Shingle Style Screen Porch

Our clients purchased this remarkable home years ago and have been stewards of it ever since. The stately shingle style is incredibly unique and extremely well designed by the late Stephen R. Holt. They requested a larger screen porch than had currently existed to allow for larger gatherings and watching sports on a drop-down screen. The porch would also act as a pass-through to the large lawn that is used for entertaining. A successful design would be one that looked as if it had been there when the house was built. Custom sliding screen panels and a large 2-sided fireplace was incorporated, along with custom drop-down clear shades that protect from wind in the shoulder seasons. The design connects the house to the pool and pool house beyond, while functioning as a back yard gateway and cozy place to relax, all while blending seamlessly into the architecture of the existing home.
